You need to have sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving. Here's a recipe for your crockpot that is a little healthier than the traditional recipe.
Ingredients: (Serves 12)
6 Medium Sweet Potatoes or yams
1.5c Applesauce
2/3c Packed Brown Sugar
3T Butter or margarine, melted
1t Ground Cinnamon
1/2c Chopped Nuts
Place sweet potatoes in the slow cooker
Mix remaining ingredients except nuts
Pour over the mixture over the potatoes
Cover and cook on low heat setting 6 to 8 hours
Sprinkle with nuts
This version of sweet potatoes is pretty good. It is a little different than the traditional super sweet yams, but this had a great texture and was sweet.
